The Tacticon 2.57lb Special Rifle Threat (SRT) plate is engineered for lightweight, effective protection against modern rifle threats. Constructed from Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE), this standalone plate weighs just 2.57 lbs, providing mobility and comfort without compromising defense.

What is a Special Rifle Threat or SRT Plate?

Unlike traditional NIJ Level III plates, which are designed to withstand six shots of 7.62×51 (M80) with less than 44mm backface signature, the SRT plate targets special rifle threats outside standard NIJ testing. This includes more commonly encountered rounds like 5.56 M193 (AR-15) and 7.62×39 (AK-47). By narrowing the focus to these specific threats, the SRT plate achieves a thinner and lighter profile compared to typical Level III plates.

The plate has been rigorously tested to handle up to 6 multi-hits from 5.56 M193 or 7.62×39 MSC while keeping trauma below safe thresholds. Its standalone design means it requires no additional trauma pads or carriers to perform effectively, making it ideal for tactical missions or everyday use where weight and flexibility are critical.
